Similan Island
The Similan Islands are a world-famous marine national park in the Andaman Sea, renowned for their crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life. Located northwest of Phuket, the islands can be reached by private yacht in approximately 3 to 6 hours, depending on cruising speed and sea conditions.
The archipelago consists of 11 islands, each offering its own unique charm. Must-visit spots include Island No. 8 (Koh Similan), home to the famous Sail Rock Viewpoint with breathtaking vistas, and Island No. 9 (Koh Ba Ngu), known for its stunning underwater rock formations and vibrant marine life.
If you want to make the most of your time in the Similan Islands, it's highly recommended to stay at least 2 nights and 3 days. With multiple islands to explore and an abundance of marine life to discover, a one-day trip would not allow you to fully experience everything this incredible destination has to offer. Staying overnight gives you the opportunity to snorkel, dive, kayak, and relax without the crowds, making for a more personalized and unforgettable journey.
During your stay, you can enjoy a variety of activities, including snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, scuba diving with manta rays and turtles, kayaking through tranquil lagoons, and unwinding on untouched white-sand beaches. The islands are open to visitors from mid-October to mid-May, which is the ideal time to visit, as the weather is perfect, and the sea conditions are calm.
